Community organisations in the City of Joondalup, Western Australia, can now apply for funding through the 2026/27 Community Funding Program – Round 1.

The program provides financial support to incorporated community groups delivering projects, events, programs and activities that improve the wellbeing of the City of Joondalup community.

Funding is available through two grant categories:

  • Small Grants – up to AUD $10,000
  • Large Grants – more than AUD $10,000

If your organisation is planning a new community initiative that aligns with the City’s funding priorities, this is an excellent opportunity to secure financial support.

What is the City of Joondalup Community Funding Program?

The City of Joondalup Community Funding Program helps incorporated community organisations deliver projects that create positive social, environmental and community outcomes.

The program supports initiatives that strengthen local communities, encourage participation, improve health and wellbeing, and build stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods.

Funding is awarded through competitive grant rounds held each financial year.

Grant Categories

The Community Funding Program offers two levels of support.

Small Grants

Funding of up to AUD $10,000 is available for eligible projects.

Large Grants

Funding exceeding AUD $10,000 is available for larger community initiatives that demonstrate significant community benefit.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to incorporated community organisations that meet the program requirements.

To be eligible, applicants must be incorporated under:

  • The Associations Incorporation Act 2015, or
  • Another recognised Australian State Government Incorporations Act.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for funding, applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:

  • The project, event, activity or program must benefit the City of Joondalup community.
  • The initiative should preferably be delivered within the City of Joondalup local government area.
  • The project must be a new initiative.
  • The project must align with at least one Community Funding Program priority.
  • The project must not have already received funding from another City of Joondalup funding program during the same financial year.
  • The applicant must be an incorporated organisation.

Applications that do not meet these requirements may not be considered.

Funding Priorities

Projects must address at least one of the following priority areas:

  • Strengthen community participation
  • Encourage connected communities
  • Promote healthy and active lifestyles
  • Build resilient and sustainable communities

Applicants should clearly explain how their proposed project contributes to one or more of these priorities.
