If your nonprofit organization is working hard to solve real problems in your community — whether it’s supporting kids and youth, strengthening local connections, or helping people move out of poverty — the United Way Community Investment Fund (CIF) 2026–2027 could be the boost you need.

This grant program offers up to $25,000 for innovative, community-driven projects that create lasting positive change.

About the United Way Community Investment Fund

Delivered in partnership between United Way and the City of Kingston, the Community Investment Fund is a one-time grant designed to support creative and collaborative solutions to pressing social challenges.

The fund prioritizes programs that deliver real, measurable impact in three key areas:

Key Funding Focus Areas

Your project must align with at least one of these three Community Impact Areas:

  1. Helping Kids Be All They Can Be Programs that support children and youth through education, development, and well-being.
  2. Building Strong and Healthy Communities Initiatives that foster community connections, improve health, and strengthen social support systems.
  3. Moving People From Poverty to Possibility Projects that help individuals achieve greater financial stability, employment opportunities, and independence.

Grant Amount

  • Maximum Funding: Up to $25,000 per project

Funding is intended for programs that are innovative, practical, and able to show clear benefits to the community.

Important Deadline

  • Application Deadline: May 5, 2026
